It’s been a great few days. To have the news about the Waterstone’s Prize announced on Monday gave me such a great high that I was walking around all day grinning at strangers and humming tunelessly to myself (I must have been lucky not to have been sectioned!).

In addition, I’ve had some really positive and uplifting feedback about the book from friends and family that has added to my happiness (if that is possible). But perhaps the best thing to have happened in the last few days is that I have had my very first fan communications! It was simply fantastic to hear from people that I don’t know personally, and for them to tell me what they thought of the book and its characters. To get great feedback and questions from the people that the book was written for is so helpful, and I am grateful to anyone who takes the time to email me or comment on this blog.

I had a nice surprise this morning too. I logged in and a friend had sent me this link:

Changeling is on the front page of the National Geo for Kids website! My book!

I am itching to get into town and see if the shortlist promotion stuff is up in my local Waterstone’s. A friend emailed to tell me that it was all up in hers, and she stood and watched people looking at the books piled on the table, willing for someone to pick mine up and buy one.

For anyone that hasn’t checked it out yet, my website: http://www.stevefeasey.com/ is up-and-running now.

    Mr V,

I had my first ‘unofficial signing’ today. I popped into my local Waterstone’s and happened to mention that Changeling was my book, and they got me to sign their entire stock.

Macmillan are trying to set up a number of signings at the moment.

I checked the blog vote. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself and voted for my own book (well I would, wouldn’t I?).

    Best wishes

    S
