On Sunday I spent a lovely afternoon in the company of some wonderful people at the Cheltenham Lit Festival.

I’d been to CLF before as a paying punter, and I love the feel of the place. Once again, the weather was really kind, and I was able to stroll around this beautiful city in autumnal sunshine.

I was part of a panel event with Marcus Sedgwick and L A Weatherly, discussing the merits of supernatural creatures in general, and more specifically our own heroes and villains.
The event was chaired by the very capable and articulate Danial Hahn, who kept things going along nicely and did a good job of maintaining the feeling that there was just one conversation going on, not three seperate ones. The audience was really attentive and asked a whole bunch of interesting questions.

As part of my preparation for the event I read both of my fellow panellists’ books (I’d already read some of Marcus’s work, but I’d not read his vampire books). I enjoyed them both immensely, so thought I’d give both authors a healthy plug here.
Revolver
This is not one of the two vampire books Marcus has written, but it is a fabulous book, and I’d recommend it without hesitation. Beautifully written.
Angel

Angels with a twist (not unlike the Arel in my own books), a road trip through America and a romance between two unlikely people. What’s not to like?
